Blue Mikey and U2

I was at my idea of Heaven on Earth the other night, a U2 Concert.  I took the liberty to record the audio of the show for my own enjoyment and am simply blown away with the quality that I was able to get with a Blue Mikey microphone and an iPhone using FiRe to record the sound.  Take a listen!

Nice to share this with us Derek,

So we get a rough but good idea what the Blue Mikey is capable of.
By the way, there is a second version of the microphone announced, and as soon as it is availble I probably find myself buying that. The price of the mic makes it an obvious choice compared to a dedicated mini-recorder, if you already own an iPod of iPhone.
Besides my iPhone I also own an iPod touch of the first generation. I am hoping it is possible to use that one with the Mikey.
After that I will be looking for a solution to block wind noises, so I have to find a pop cap that fits the Mikey. And propably also a porper furry windjammer on the side, when recording thing like the sea.

Well I think that Blue's Mikey would work fine with the first gen. This mike seems to have been originally designed for use with iPods, so I can't imagine that it wouldn't work on a similar device. I think the iPhone OS 3.0 may be the big deciding factor of it. I really look forward to getting the new version of Mikey. I like it for 2 reasons. 1st, you can put the mic in more positions, which would be perfect if you were to record video on an iPhone, and 2nd, i like that you can charge your phone with a USB charger pass thru on the new one. Thanks for writing! Let me know if you find a windscreen. It is a must with Mikey as such a sensitive mic constantly subjected to the elements.
